Hi. I have somehow inconsistent ntfs partition which also microsofts chkdsk failed to recover (with very verbose output: "failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 50" :).
When I try to run ntfsck, it "freezes". I need to send ctrl+c keystroke, to have terminal back:
blacktroja luvar # ntfsck /dev/loop2
First attribute must be after the header (0).
blacktroja luvar #
This is imho not expected behaviour.
I have used gentoo build sys-fs/ntfsprogs-2.0.0-r3. (what about -v switch for ntfs* programs?)
PS: I am right that one record is not good and thus because one byte error (very probable that there is only 100kb unreadable disk area which I was not able to read correctly through dd recovery) I cannot get any file from my filesystem? I doesnt know much about ntfs, but I have think that it is smarter than fat...
